Off Leash Training - continued
Off Leash Training is when your dog obeys the basic commands - heel, sit, down, stay and come - without a leash.
An electronic stimulation collar** is used to give light corrections and to get the dog's attention.
Before a dog is eligible for Off Leash Training, he/she must know all of their basic commands on leash! We recommend a dog be at least 6 - 7 months old.
Off Leash is the ultimate in dog training! It offers the owner the ability to take their dog anywhere with the confidence that the dog can handle any situation, all without a leash! For those owners who live in cities where leashes are required, we offer an 18" traffic lead that attaches to the stimulation collar and is just held.
**But, wait just a minute! Aren't remote training collars really ―shock collars‖? The answer is an emphatic ―NO!‖ The truth is, these training tools are constructed with micro amperage and don't have the capacity to shock like an electrical outlet. Rather, the remote training collar is an effective, safe communication tool that teaches a dog to develop self-control and a solid sense of teamwork.
